The  Bulletin

of the Russian Philosophical Society ¹2 (14), 2000.

     The Bulletin ¹ 2(14), 2000, has been distributed recently. (Chief editor – professor Chumakov A.N., executive secretary – professor Yaroschuk N.Z.).

       This issue is opened by the information of the Presidium of the RPhS, that the society has been registered and has received corresponding codes of the State statistic committee of the Russian Federation.

        The Organizational and the Program Committees of the III All-Russian Philosophical congress also publishes its information.

       Presidium of the RPhS informs the readers of its decision to publish transactions of the members of the society.

         The All-Russian meeting of the heads of chairs and the  deans of  socio-humanitarian faculties took place on June 27, 2000. The magazine puts the report of the  corresponding member of the Russian academy of sciences A.A.Guseinov, the Vice-Director of the Institute of Philosophy, RAS, «On the place of philosophy in the system of  higher education”;  reports of the heads of departments of the Ministry of Education of N.I. Zaguzov and V.G.Aladiyn.

         There is also information on the meeting of the Presidium of the Methodic Council of the Russian universities on politology, religiology and philosophy, under the head of professor Mironov V.V, the dean of philosophical faculty of the Moscow State University.

         Answering the readers’ request, the magazine puts the text of the order ¹686 of the minister of education V.M.Filippov “On Ratification of state educational standards of  higher professional education» with corresponding supplements.

        The Bulletin continues publishing materials of the II All-Russian philosophical congress (1999, Ekaterinburg): it puts a plenary report of professor Kagan M.S. «Pushkin in the history of Russian culture».

         Under the heading «Useful information»  one can read about the meeting of the Club “Free Word” with M.S.Gorbachev. Many outstanding scientists, philosophers and political figures took part at this meeting.

        There is an information on the Conference of philosophers of the East-Slavonic countries (May 15-17, 2000, Moscow) and on the International philosophical symposium “The Dialogue of Civilization: East-West”(November,10-14,1999,Moscow).

         Within the framework of the discussion, started after the publication of professor Krushanov’s articles, the debate with a renowned Professor of Oriental philosophy Stepaniants M.T. has been published.

     In the part “Information from the regional subdivisions” there is the following information: on the All-Russian scientific conference “New Russia: spirituality, civilization, Renaissance”(May 29-30, Novorossiysk); on the Round Table” National Idea: the problem of war and peace in social mentality (devoted to the 80-th anniversary of the end of the civil war in Kuban region)”; on the election meeting of the Moscow philosophical society; on the II International scientific congress “Science, art, education on the eve of the III Millennium (April 6-8, 2000, Volgograd)”; on the Scientific-practical conference “Culture of the Russian Province: the XX century to the XXI century (May 23-26, 2000, Kaluga)”; on the activity of the Omsk subdivision of the RPhS.

      The magazine focuses our attention on the coming philosophical congresses and conferences.

     Under the heading “Discussions” the following articles of the members of RPhS are published: N.Sedova and I.Petrova “Russia’s ethnosocial temporality: setting up a problem”; E.G.Loginova “Socio-economic classes and half-classes”; B.P.Shulindin “On the Notions of ‘spirit’ and ‘spirituality’”; I.I.Kondrashin “On a new ontological model”; T.P.Lolaiev “The Main question of philosophy is formulated incorrectly”.

       There is a new column in the magazine: “Feedback” (the readers’ opinion on the Bulletin). There is an article of the heads of Kaliningrad subdivision of the RPhS - by V.F.Ovchinnikov and E.P.Ribakov “The Bulletin of the RPhS – is the magazine about philosophers and for philosophers.”

     In this number there are also reviews of M.Sergeiev. ”L.N.Stolovich.Philosophy.Ethics. Laugh.” and that of M.S.Kelner ”Wilgelm Reich: a man, a scientist, a thinker.” There is also information about new books in philosophy and about the defense of doctor and candidate dissertations in philosophy at the second quarter of this year.

     This number of the Bulletin explains once again that only those, who has paid their annual fee, can become a member of the society and their names are put in the list of the members of the philosophical society in the Bulletin   ¹3, additional list of the members – in the Bulletin ¹4.
